Indoor Productions
Although Repercussion Theatre is well known for its yearly Shakespeare-in-the-Park tour, that doesn’t mean we don’t present plays in more traditional venues as well! In honor of our mission, Repercussion presents professional, classically based, visually dynamic theatre that is accessible to all, indoors and out.

Swashbuckling
In a suburban basement, two brothers fight. They fight as a joke, they fight as a game and they fight as a way to resolve conflict. Through their fighting, we hear words from Shakespeare, Homer, Dumas, Dostoevsky and many other classical authors. It’s as if their story has been in writing for ages, carving out what it means to be a man and how the answer is to fight.
Also known as “De cape et d’épée”, Swashbuckling is a new two person play that speaks about the perpetuation of male violence told through classical texts and involving multiple styles of stage fighting. The play will be presented at Centaur Theatre in December 2026 with alternating French and English performances.
Thy Women’s Weeds
Thy Woman’s Weeds centers around a chorus of women. Over the course of 30 scenes, these women speak through Shakespeare’s characters and about them. They rage against the limiting space they are allotted and commiserate over the lack of options they are allowed. The play has the capacity to excite the Bard afficionado as much as the novice, and it seems to engage those who hate him as much as those who love him. It is neither simply a love-letter to Shakespeare, nor is it a break-up text (though it sometimes is both).
This play was created in our first edition of Words with Will and presented at Centaur Theatre in 2024.
